Getting your emailers opened

If you use e-marketing for your business and often send out promotional flyers or newsletters, you will probably already know how hard it is to get the recipient to open your email.

It surprises me, how many companies send out emails without knowing the open rate and click through rate of them or even if they have been delivered successfully. The first priority is to cleanse your data. You need to ensure that you have the most up to date contact details for your customer list and if any emails bounce back then you will need to either contact the customer to try and establish another email address or remove.

Once you have done this you need to carefully consider the content within your email and also the subject line for the mailer. Many people only see the subject line in their list of emails and if yours doesn’t stand out or offer them a reason to open it then the likelihood is they probably won’t.
