When doing any type of print design either for brochures, business cards or leaflets there’s a few fun things that you can play around with to get the maximum effect from your marketing material.
Playing with boundaries – most people will automatically fill the space that they are working with, for example A4, leaving a margin around the edge. However for a great effect you can over-fill your text box with the text on a diagonal to give an edgier look. As long as it’s still easy to read the effect won’t compromise the content.
Content, less is more – Particularly on promotional material, most people will have a quick glance at a leaflet and possibly skim-read it so if there is too much text then the likelihood is that it won’t be read.
Invert- if you want something to really standout such as your logo or a short slogan then simply invert the colours. Having a white word on a black background makes the words have much more impact than the other way around.
