Print design on a tight budget

Many businesses constantly analyse their marketing budget and set aside amounts for different elements such as print work, website work and social media. Print work is still very important to a number of businesses although over the years, many businesses have switched round their marketing budgets to emphasise more on online marketing.
If your company still does a relatively large amount of print work such as leaflets, brochures, business cards etc. then it is important to try and keep costs down to get the most out of an already small budget.
Commercial print presses work most economically with standard sized pages, such as A3, A4 and A2 and therefore although it may not be what you want to do, sticking to using these sizes for your designs will help to reduce costs. It means that a lot more companies will be able to offer the service to you and with additional competition, prices tend to be lower.
Because there’s always a set-up cost, irrespective how many prints you want, the unit cost for printing reduces significantly when you order more. When you get a quote for your printing, you may add very little to the price by increasing print numbers. If you know you are going to be needed more in the future it may be worth getting them all done at the same time. But if there is a chance that they may need changing then hold fire otherwise you could end up with a lot of wastage.
