When designing company logos or promotional or print material it can be tempting to simply Google a subject to find a specific image, however what you have to keep in mind is that a lot of these images are actually protected by copyright law and using these images can result in a law suit against your company and sometimes large fines.
There are occasionally signs on the image that it’s copyright such as a water mark that covers the picture in a translucent image or font stating who the picture belongs to, this is often used by photographers to protect their images until they are purchased.
There is also sometime this symbol © at the bottom of the image which shows that the image is protected under copyright law.
If neither of these is on the picture don’t presume that it’s ok to use without breaching the copyright law, it is your responsibility to locate the source of the picture to check if it is free to use in the public domain or whether it belongs to someone where permissions of use would need to be granted. If this is the case permissions will normally be given in exchange for a fee to the owner of the image.
