We have all had it where we have ordered something expecting it to be here within a few days but then finding out it has been posted second class.
Some companies still chose to send items via second class post to save money, but the mailing system has evolved so much over the last few years that this is now seen as a little “behind the times”.
Many companies offer a next day delivery service, even if you order up to 9pm the night before and some companies do not even charge for this service. When someone orders something online they usually want to receive it as quick as possible and with second class post it could take a number of days especially if over a weekend.
First class post usually arrives at another UK address within two days and very often the following day and with the little increase in price from second to first class, I believe it is well worth the upgrade.
