A template letter is always easy to spot, and adding personal details to your mailing campaigns is extremely important. There are many ways in which you can make a promotional letter more personal, but it all begins by addressing the individual with their first name, much like you would with a friend you’ve bumped into on the street.
Depending on the size of your mailing campaign, you may want to handwrite the receiver’s name on the envelope; this will certainly grab their attention, making them want to open it to find out more. Of course this is not always an option with very large campaigns, but there are mailing machines that can add/print the personal details for you, and any decent mailing provider should be able to offer this service.
Language is extremely important when it comes to providing personal touches, but design matters too, and the less promotional it looks the better, otherwise it could be deemed ‘junk’ and placed directly in the bin.
