Asking your customers for feedback through direct marketing

Getting feedback from your customers can be the most vital resource you can use to improve you future business products, services and customer service. Having received feedback from a customer you can go over their ratings and reviews and ascertain what needs to be done to improve certain areas of a business.

If you have an e-commerce website, then you may wish to send out a direct marketing email to your customers a week or so after they have purchased from you. You could ask them to rate the product or service they received in different areas i.e. cost vs quality, information available before they purchased, delivery times and customer service. It is also a good idea to put an “other comments” box at the bottom of any feedback from to allow them to mention any other comments they may have good or bad.

Remember to always keep feedback forms as brief as possible whilst still allowing you to gather important data, some date is better than none. You could even offer your customers a reward such as a discount off their next purchase if they are willing to complete a longer survey or if they want to recommend you to a friend.
