If you are looking to design a flyer or poster then you need to think carefully about what font you are going to be using. If you have a corporate branding package, you may already have a type face that you use across the board such as on print work, sign writing and website. If this is the case then you should try and stick to using this as to ensure consistency across the board.
If you do not have a particular type face that you use, then do plenty of research before you make up your mind. Depending on what the print work is for and what industry you are in can have a big influence on what font you use. For example if you are in the children’s entertainment business, you may want to make your font quirky and fun so may opt for Comic Sans or Joker. If you are trying to promote a product or event that is very sophisticated you may chose Helvetica or Palatino. Experiment with a few different font types before you make your mind up and although the way it looks is very important, it is most important that it is easy to read.
